Cool new show!

Chefs have TV shows, hair stylists have TV shows, models have TV shows, even pawn shop employees have TV shows!  Finally in 2011, make up artists have a reality show!  The show is called Face Off and it airs on the Syfy network at 10:00 on Wednesdays.  It's about special effects and prosthetic make up.  I'm really not into that sort of make up genre, but it teaches some basic skills that are good to know for every make up artist.

The show's judges are Ve Neill, (who worked on Pirates of the Caribbean and Edward Scissorhands), Glenn Hetrick, (who worked on Heroes and the X-files), and Patrick Tatopoulos, (who worked on Underworld and Independence Day), so these guys know what they're talking about when they judge the contestants!

The fist episode's challenge was to create an animal/human hybrid creature on a model.  The contestants split into teams and put their prosthetic make up skills to work.  They came up with some really interesting stuff!  The second episode's challenge dealt with body painting.  The contestants worked with male and female models to make them a part of an inspiration painting using body paint.  I can't wait to see what is planned for the rest of the season!
